In my opinion the worst part of Rwanda is their government. A lot of people believe it's the Tutsi or the Hutu but I would disagree because the Rwandan government are killing people for their own economical gain. While some of the Hutu are killing the Tutsi, they are also sheltering some as well. I think all would have been well if the Rwandan government hadn't blamed the Tutsi for shooting down the plane of the governor. After that is when all the killing broke out. And the government has killed many people for no reason and made it a lot worse then it was before.
The past two weeks have been alright, but i'm not looking forward to finals. But Christmas and winter break should be amazing so I'm definitely looking forward to that.

Free Topic

I am not passionate about much, but the thing I am most passionate about would have to be guitar. I just finished learning the solo to Hotel California and I am now learning Black Magic Woman by Santana. I have been playing for almost two years, it will be two years in February. I play once a day and take lessons once a week. My teacher is a very good guitarist and a great teacher. I love playing guitar and I always will.
The past two weeks have been alright, but I've been looking forward to thanksgiving a lot.

topic #5

The painting I chose was by Frida Kahlo. I like this picture a lot because it shows that Frida loved nature. I like her style of painting, she never tries to hide the way she looks. She shows her real self and I like that about Frida Kahlo. Frida was born July 6, 1907 right outside of Mexico City. She was married to the famous Diego Rivera. She also suffered from polio.
In the past two weeks, i've been pretty busy. I've been getting all my work in and taking tests since it's the last of the 2nd six weeks. I'm liking high school though and hope it stays this way.

I chose Benjamin Franklin's quote, "When the well's dry, we know the worth of water."  This quote means that we don't know the value of something we take advantage of until it is gone.  I 100%  agree with this quote because we don't realize the true value of some of the things we use everyday.  Even an object with the tiniest importance to us can be of great use that we don't realize until it gets taken away.  For example, a door.  Usually people don't even notice how many times they open and close a door but they do it every day.  Imagine if you didn't have a door.  This could change a lot of things.  It could be colder in your room, less privacy, you could hear noises from outside constantly, and so on.  Even a door matters and it has almost no respect.
The past 2 weeks we have been studying Latin America. We have been reading from Unit 3 of our book and we have taken many quizzes and tests. It has been very stressful, but i'm hanging in there. I can't wait for Thanksgiving break and Halloween. I also am excited for moving on to studying Unit 4 and learning about Europe.

Illegal Immigration

We have millions of illegal immigrants in the United States. Some of the reasons they have come to our country is to escape various thing such as civil war, slavery, repression, abuse, oppression, etc. Some of the most commonly found illegal immigrants are from Mexico coming into California, New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas. These immigrants are bad to our country because they are over-populating the country.
I feel that our country should enforce the border patrol more and stop letting so many immigrants in to our country because we already have enough people, we don't need anymore. I think this is a very big issue at this time and we need to do something about it.

Culture topic

My favorite musical group is the band Coldplay. The reason I like them so much is they have extremely good songwriting skills and their instrumentals are incredible. The band members all play an important part and every instrument fits so well with the others. Their songs have moved and influenced me and listening to them is one of my favorite things to do.

The 5 Themes of Geography for Austin Texas

There are five themes of Geography. They all apply to Austin Texas. The "Five Themes of Geography" are Location, Place, Human/Environment Interaction, Movement, and Region. Other cities near Austin that are in Texas include Houston, Dallas, and Fort Worth. The absolute location of Austin Texas is 25ºN 10ºS. The place characteristics would be: mainly warm climate, a lot of trees, grass, and woodlands. It is well known for being the "live music capital of the world", most people say "Y'all" and use southern language, clothing is somewhat normal, and buildings are big and there's a lot of them, but it's no 'New York City'. The human characteristics would have to be we depend greatly on air conditioning especially in the summer when temperatures reach over 100 degrees. Austin also has a lot of highways and also has dams. Movement traits of Austin are mainly dependent on automobiles. There is a metro system being built, and buses are common, but cars are what will be the most familiar in Austin. The region characteristics of Austin would include some landforms like hills, lakes, and rivers. The city has mainly grassland vegetation and climates are mainly warm/hot. In Austin, the most common religion would probably be Christianity, but there are all kinds of religions such as Jewish, Mormon, etc. The natural boundaries of Texas include the Rio Grande (separating us from Mexico), the Sabine, and Red Rivers. The surrounding states are New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana.
